The Emergent Edge
A new body of small works on paper and canvas will hang at Wild Hearts Gallery in Placitas, NM, for the month of October, 2023. Opening reception: Friday, Oct. 6th, 4-7 pm

This gallery is a small retrospective sampling of work from the Placitas years, 1984 to the present. It includes work created with Wayne Mikosz at Convergence Studios over 20 years of collaboration. Images begin with the “Creatures of the Night” series and move to the “Changing Woman” series, to more recent and abstract work, the collaborations, and mixed media “Spirits.”

Born in Omaha, Nebraska and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Riha was a Fine Arts student at Washington University, Instituto Allende, and Lindenwood College. Her parents were musicians. Her maternal grandparents taught her the joy of creating and the pride of craftsmanship. Riha fell in love with the American Southwest in 1979 and moved to New Mexico in 1984. Interest in dreams and dream work inspires her arts as well. She founded the Placitas Studio Tour in 1998.
